Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Vada Pav Pakora:
- For making batter :
- 1/2 bowl Gram flour
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- 1 tbsp kasuri methi
- to taste Salt
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/8 tsp asafoetida
- 1/4 tsp carrom seeds
- as required Water
- For making Tikki:
- 2 Boiled potatoes
- 1 tbsp coriander leaves
- 1inch piece ginger grated
- as per taste Salt
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/4 tsp garam masala
- 1/4 tsp mango powder
- 1 tsp corn flour
- Others :
- 1 onion peeled and sliced
- 1 Tomato sliced
- as required Pavs
- As per requirement Cooking Oil for deep frying
- as required Tomato ketchup for serving
Steps to make to make Vada Pav Pakora
- Add all ingredients for making batter except water in a mixing bowl. Now gradually add water and make a batter of slightly thick consistency. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
- Peel boiled potatoes. Add all the ingredients for making Tikki as mentioned above.
- Mash and mix all ingredients. Take a small portion of dough and make a ball and flatten it on your palm and make a Tikki. I have made 3 tikkis with this dough.
- Peel and wash onion Tomato and slice it.
- Cut pav horizontally. Place a slice of onion and tomato. Then place the tikki over it. Again place onion and tomato slice over it.
- Place other half of pav over it and press it gently so that all the material inside pav gets stick to each other. Like wise prepare all 3 pavs.
- Heat oil in a wok for deep frying. Place this pav in Gram flour batter and coat it all around with batter.
- Place it gently in hot oil and deep fry till golden brown colour from all sides. Remove it in a plate when done.
- Serve hot with Tomato ketchup.
