- 2 tsp Ginger garlic paste / chopped
- 1 tbsp Roasted peanuts
- 1 tbsp Green peas
- 1-2 chillies chopped
- 1 1/2 cup besan/gram flour
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- as needed Oil for frying
- 2 tsp Coriander leaves
- 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Amchur (dry mango)powder
- 1 tsp Jeera (cumin)powder
Steps to make to make Aloo chop
- Keep all ingredients ready before cooking.
- In a pan heat little oil, add cumin seeds, chopped chillies, sautee for few seconds. Then add chopped or coarsely grind ginger garlic paste sautee for 1 to minutes. Add turmeric powder, amchur powder, jeera powder and mix well.
- Now add mashed potatoes, peanut, green matar, coriander leaves salt to taste mix everything very well and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes, that masala perfectly mix with potatoes. Masala is ready for aloo chop. keep it aside.
- In a big bowl take 1.5 cups of besan, add turmeric powder, chilli powder, salt and pinch of baking soda and make a thick semi liquid lumps free mixture by adding water gradually. 1cup or little more water is needed for this.
- Now make small balls out of the aloo masala, dip the balls in besan mixture, coat them from all side, take one ball carefully and deep fry in medium hot oil till golden colour.
- Now take out the aloo chop from oil and drain on a kitchen towel to absorb excess oil, serve this yummy chops hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
