  1. 50 gms Muri/ Murmura/ Puffed rice
  2. 1 small Boiled potato cubed/ sliced in small pieces
  3. As needed Little Raw mango finely chopped (when in season)
  4. as needed Little amount of Chopped onion
  5. 1 Chopped Chilli
  6. As needed Little amount of Chopped Tomato
  7. as required Little amount of Chopped Cilantro
  8. as required Small amount of Soaked Chana (Bengal Gram)
  9. as required Small amount of Lemon juice or Tamarind water as per taste
  10. 1/2-1 Tsp Mustard oil
  11. as per taste Common Salt
  12. Handful Plain bhujia/ Nylon Sev To mix and top it atlast
  13. as required Coconut slices and small amount of coconut pieces
  14. Muri Masala
  15. 1/2 tbsp Roasted Cummin Seeds
  16. 1 Tsp Roasted Coriander Seeds
  17. 3 Roasted Green Cardamom
  18. 1/2 tbsp Roasted Fennel seeds
  19. 3 Roasted Whole dry Red Chilli
  20. 1/2 Tsp Black peppercorns
  21. 1 Tsp Black Rock salt
  22. 1/4 tsp Common salt
  23. 1/2 Tsp Ginger powder
  24. 2 Tsp Aamchur powder

Steps to make to make Kolkata style Jhal Muri (Masala Muri / Sukha Bhel)

  1. Soak the Chana overnight first and then on the day of having it prepare the Muri masala first and boil the potatoes and prepare all other ingredients. In a bowl add the Muri / murmure/ puffed rice. Then add all other ingredients one by one. Then at last the 2 Tsp or as per taste Muri masala, mustard oil and lemon juice or tamarind water. Sprinkle little sevai bhaji on top on individual serving and serve with a slice of coconut. Enjoy !
  2. Note : 1. Have it immediately, you can't keep this Jhal Muri for long, it will become soggy. 2. You can add cucumber too but since I have issue with cucumber, most of the time I skip.
