  2. 100 gm Onion sliced
  3. 150-200 gm Tomato chopped
  4. 2-3 chillies slit or chopped
  5. 1 tsp Ginger paste
  6. 1/2 tsp Garlic paste
  7. 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  8. to taste Salt
  9. 4-5 tbsp Mustard oil
  10. 1 tbsp Aamchur ( dry mango)powder
  11. 1 tbsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
  12. 1/2 tsp Paanch Foron
  13. Dry roasted and powdered masala
  14. 1 tbsp Coriander seeds
  15. 1 tbsp Cumin seeds
  16. 2 whole red dry chillies
  17. 1/2 tbsp Mustard seeds

Instructions to make to make Achaari Karela

  1. Slice the Karela and marinate with some turmeric and salt and keep aside for sometimes.....dry roast the masala and grind it. Prepare all the other ingredients as mentioned.
  2. Heat mustard oil in a kadai, add in the Paanch foron and once it starts crackling add in the onion and saute it till it becomes translucent, then add the Karela after discarding the excess water from it.
  3. Saute / Bhunno for sometimes, then add the ginger garlic paste and bhunno it, then add the turmeric and chilli powder, salt and bhunno it.
  4. Then add tomatoes, chilies and cover and cook for sometimes on low medium flame....till it gets cooked. Then add Aamchur powder and dry roasted masala powder and mix well....cook for few minutes and your Achari Karela is ready to be served.
