  2. 2 tomatoes
  3. 3 tbsp oil
  4. 1 bay leaf
  5. 4 cloves
  6. 1 dry red chilli
  7. 1/2 tsp cumin
  8. 1/4 tsp hing/ asafoetida
  9. 1 green chilli finely chopped
  10. 1 tsp ginger paste
  11. 1/2 tsp turmeric
  12. 1 tsp chilli powder
  13. 3 tsp roasted gram flour
  14. 1/4 tsp black pepper powder
  15. 1 tsp coriander powder
  16. 3 cups water
  17. Salt to taste
  18. 1.5 teaspoon garam masala
  19. 1/2 tsp amchoor/ dry mango powder
  20. 1/2 tsp black salt
  21. 1 tsp kasuri methi
  22. 2 tbsp coriander leaves

Instructions to make to make Raseele Aloo / Potato Curry

  1. First of all boil the potatoes. When it cools down, peel it and mash it roughly. Grind tomatoes to a puree in a mixer grinder.
  2. Heat oil in a pot and add bay leaf, dry red chilli and cloves to it. Now add cumin to it and let it get brown. Now add hing, chopped green chillies, ginger paste, turmeric and chilli powder to it and mix it well. Now add tomato puree to it and cook it on medium heat until oil separates.
  3. Now add roasted gram flour to it and cook it for 2 minutes on medium heat. Add mashed potatoes to it along with water and give it a good stir. Now add black pepper powder, coriander powder, salt, garam masala, amchoor and black salt to it and cook it for 5 minutes on medium heat.
  4. Add kasuri methi and cook it for another 2 minutes on medium heat. Lastly add coriander leaves and turn off the heat.
  5. Serve raseele aloo with puri for breakfast. It can be even served as a meal.
