For this recipe Chana Sattu is spiced with onion, ginger-garlic , achar (mango pickle) and herbs and stuffed into the whole wheat dough, cooked on tawa and served with chutney and curd . Sattu is full of fiber, and essential nutrients like protein thus making this one a healthy dish that can be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well. Ingredients and spices that need to be Make ready to make Sattu Ka Paratha:

  1. For dough
  2. 2 cup wheat flour
  3. 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  4. 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander leaves
  5. 1/2 tsp salt
  6. As needed Water to knead the dough
  7. 1 tsp ghee
  8. For Sattu stuffing...
  9. 1 cup chana sattu (use fresh sattu always)
  10. 1/2 onion, sliced
  11. 4-5 garlic cloves
  12. 1/2 inch ginger
  13. 2 green chilli
  14. 1 tsp carom seeds
  15. 1/2 tsp black cumin or (kalaunji)
  16. 1 piece mango pickle and 1tsp pickle masala
  17. 1 tbsp oil of mango pickle
  18. 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
  19. 1 handful coriander leaves
  20. as required Ghee or oil to cook paratha

Steps to make to make Sattu Ka Paratha

  1. In a mixing bowl add in flour, salt carom seeds and coriander leaves, mix everything well. Make a semi soft dough by adding water little by little. Once the dough is ready add ghee and knead it again. Keep it aside for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, prepared the stuffing.... In a food processor add onion, ginger, garlic and chilli and blend until the veggies are finely chopped.
  3. Then, in the same food processor add chana sattu, carom seeds, black Cummin, salt coriander leaves, pickle, oil and 1tbsp water. Blend until everything mix together. ✔(If you don't want to add pickle then use lemon juice, but pickle works better) ✔(You can also prepared this stuffing without food processor, only you need to use finely chopped veggies and Blend it with all other ingredients.)
  4. Further, Take out a ball from the dough. Spread the dough and Place 1-2tbsp filling in the center. Gather the sides to cover and seal the stuffing. Pinch off excess if any.
  5. Dust well and roll into thick paratha gently.
  6. Heat tawa, once hot, cook the paratha both sides with ghee drizzled. Cook in medium heat until golden spots appear.
  7. Similarly prepared all parathas. Serve hot with some extra butter spicy coriander chutney, sweet chutney or curd. Enjoy.
